The Junk Car Removal Process

The junk car removal process can be a bit difficult because of all the different elements that are involved. At Allied Recycling, we can make this process much easier for you. We have devised a list of items that can get you started and can help you determine the steps that you need to take to stay on track and get rid of your junk car in a timely manner.

1. Remove Personal Items

The first step you can take regarding the junk removal process is the remove any of your personal items in your car. You will want to make sure that all items are removed, including items that you may want, as well as any trash that could make things more difficult. By spending the time to do this, you will not run into any additional charges or sadness due to forgotten and destroyed personal items.

2. Secure Car Title

The next step you will need to take is securing your car title. This is important because you can not send off a junk car if you have not “given them permission” in a sense. You will need to release and transfer the ownership of the vehicle to the tow truck person that comes to get your junk car. If you have not already gone to the DMV to get a copy of this, then you will want to go and get a duplicate to make the process easier and ensure that you have a copy for your own records.

3. Use All Gas

Before you get rid of your junk car, you will want to expend all the gas in the car so that you will not be wasting any of the gas when the car is drained of all liquids.

4. Remove Valuable Parts

For parts that you think could make you some more money, you may want to sell them off on the side. These items may be parts of the car such as audio systems and the car battery.

5. Take Off the Plates

This is a more self-explanatory step, but you will want to remove these plates before the pickup comes.

6. Contact A Junk Car Removal Company

A junk car removal company will be able to come to your home or junkyard and collect your junk car in a timely manner. You will want to be there for the removal, as you will have transfer the ownership on the spot.
